This week we had very special guests at Wayco: students of the Berklee College of Music Valencia and Alexandre Perrin, Associate Professor.
The Berklee College of Music, founded in 1945, is the world’s largest private university of music. It is located in Boston, Massachusetts. At the time in which it was founded, almost all music schools were focused primarily on classical music. The original mission of Berklee was to provide musical training in jazz, rock, and other styles of contemporary music not available in other music schools.
International campus of Valencia is the first established by the Berklee outside Boston. Opened in 2012, the campus is housed in the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia. Students of multiple nationalities can choose over several academic programs.
Our guests where students of the Global Entertainment and Music Business Graduate Program. Alexandre Perrin teached the subject: Analyzing your Market, in our Sala Maritim for all his students and he invited our Coworkers to attend too.
You can tell Alexander´s researcher background and experience as a consultant in his teaching method. As he says, “In the Emerging Business Model practicum I push them to rethink the payment models existing in the industry and identify most of the traps and best practices for creating new business ventures. As a whole, I help students to understand where the money comes from and where the money goes.”
After an amazing Masterclass (case study included even for us ;), we had a relaxed chat among some of the members of our Co-mmunity who presented their experience as coworkers and enterpreneurs. Marcel Kalveram decided to move to Valencia form a cold city in Germany and works in Wayco as a programmer. He believes you have to work on what you are good at and opportunities will come. David Ballester is working in his final project of Photography degree and is also a musician. He had the opportunity to show one of his songs played and singed by him. Wow!
Thank you guys for the visit.
We are sure we will meet again… Maybe we organise a concert at Wayco? Stay tunned.
