Our Wayco Cabanyal space has been recognized as the most innovative and best designed coworking space in Spain at CWSC2025, the annual meeting promoted by Coworking Spain that brings together the entire coworking and flex office industry.
This award celebrates not only a building, but a way of understanding work, design and community life. An inspiring space, facing the sea, where the tradition of the neighborhood meets Wayco’s vision for the future.
A building with a maritime soul
Located in the heart of Cabanyal-Canyamelar, Wayco Cabanyal stands as a tribute to the roots of the neighborhood. Bright colors, references to traditional architecture and a layout designed for light and community life mark the character of this space with five floors, two terraces and a large inner courtyard.
Inspired by the old “cabanyaleras” houses, the central courtyard articulates the life of the building and becomes, together with the terraces, the lung of the coworking: there, connections, meetings, culture and creativity arise.
A reform with history
The design and renovation project, developed by the HEBRA studio in collaboration with Wayco, recovers and transforms an emblematic building in the neighborhood, previously designed by the Ruiz Larrea studio. Although it had been an urban and architectural landmark, the building had fallen into disuse after years of inactivity.
With a unique architecture -clean volumes, double heights, open terraces and a ceramic envelope that acts as a bioclimatic skin-, the challenge was great: to give the space a new life without losing its essence. The result is a place where innovation is expressed from the aesthetic to the functional.
Tradition, community and design
The interior design pays tribute to the most picturesque elements of the Cabanyal: ceramic tiles, traditional marble, Alicante shutters, wood and a color palette ranging from blue to green, evoking the typical facades of the neighborhood. The rooms and terraces bear names such as Ateneo Marítimo, Atarazanas, Malvarrosa or El Grau, in a nod to the historical and cultural landmarks that surround us.
Wayco Cabanyal hosts a wide range of uses: flex and fixed work areas, private offices, meeting and event rooms, restaurant, terraces, training spaces, a podcast room and rest areas. All with the same common thread: to promote coexistence, creativity and diversity.
An award that drives our vision
Since its inception, Wayco was born with the intention of creating spaces with soul and history, where professionals from different sectors could grow, collaborate and feel part of a community.
